Hi!
We are Vernon and Laura King.
We
have been in the vending business with Antares for 6 months
and have 4 machines. Going into business for ourselves has
been a big adventure! We have learned so much about the vending
business, as well as owning a small business.
Our
machines were placed pretty easily both by self-promotion
and by the reply mailers. All four locations already had vending
machines (snack/soda) in place and we were surprised at how
willing our accounts were to have the existing machines moved
out and ours moved in!
Since
then, we have moved two of our machines to different locations
due to low volume. But that's okay, because we learned a good
lesson on what kind of accounts to look for and to not just
put the machines anywhere! One machine we moved went from
averaging $20-30 weekly to averaging over $100 weekly! That
was a good business decision.
We
spend about 5 hours weekly on the business which includes
servicing the machines, bookkeeping, buying supplies, etc.
We both also work other jobs and have two kids, so this business
has been very flexible.
We have
not had any mechanical problems to date and the machines have
been very reliable.
Our
favorite part of the business is counting the change and figuring
out our profit margin! For the first time in our life, we
are looking forward to tax-time and seeing how much owning
a small business will benefit us tax-wise!
One
way that vending has changed our life is that we can tell
you the price of a 12-pack of Coke at every store in our city!
Antares
has been very professional and we are very pleased with our
marketing brochures and support materials. Our Business Builder
Rep, Marva, has always been "just a phone call away"
and has been very professional and supportive. Overall, I
would recommend this business to anyone who was open to the
challenge of learning something new and interested in growing
personally and professionally.
